Botanical Name: Xerosicyos danguyi
Common Name: Silver Dollar Vine, String of Coins
Origin: Madagascar

Silver Dollar Vine (Xerosicyos danguyi) is a unique trailing succulent known for its round, coin-shaped blue-green leaves that grow along delicate climbing stems. Its soft silvery tone and sculptural form make it a standout choice for modern interiors, hanging pots, and minimalist plant styling.

This drought-tolerant succulent vine is perfect for bright indoor spaces in Sydney homes. It can trail beautifully from shelves or climb with support, creating a lush cascading effect. Its thick, fleshy leaves store water, making it a low-maintenance option for busy plant lovers.

If you’re looking to buy unique trailing succulents in Sydney, Silver Dollar Vine is a rare and eye-catching addition to any indoor plant collection.

🌱 Care Guide

Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light to a few hours of gentle direct morning sun. Too little light can cause leggy growth.

Water:
Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, then let excess drain. Reduce watering in winter.

Humidity:
Adapts well to normal indoor humidity. Does not require high humidity.

Temperature:
Thrives between 18°C to 28°C. Protect from frost and temperatures below 10°C.

Soil:
Use a well-draining cactus or succulent mix with added perlite or pumice.

Fertiliser:
Feed lightly during spring and summer with a diluted succulent fertiliser.

Pet Friendly:
⚠️ Considered toxic if ingested. Keep away from pets and children.

Rope comes out at the slightest force. Pointless tug toy!
Color: Four colors, Size: 6cm (with rope)
If your dog pulls on these (and why wouldn’t he?), the rope immediately comes out. Turns out they just fuse the ends of the nylon rope together, which is no match for a dog playing tug. Any dog, any level of pulling will dismantle these. We’ve managed to reinsert the rope to a couple of these and KNOT it, which gives you a shorter rope but a toy that can withstand some play. But if I had wanted a DIY toy, I’d have used the balls and rope I already own.

Not for super chewers!
Color: Four colors, Size: 5cm (with rope), Color: Four colors, Size: 5cm (with rope)
These rope ball toys arrived today. My poodle puppy loves rope ball toys and playing tug of war. These didn’t last 10 minutes. For context, she is 1 y.o., 30 lbs., is not teething & has her adult teeth. She did this on her own- we were not playing tug of war at the time the toy fell apart. At least there are 3 more in the package & when the rope is done, we’ll still have the balls to play with.

Fun, Durable Balls for smaller heavy chewers
Color: Four colors, Size: 5cm (ball only)
Perfect size and strength for my small dog that is a heavy chewer! She hasn’t been able to destroy and chew up this one like she has with every other toy! Definitely chew resistant.
