It was reworked and modernized around the 1970s, with a zipper added in the back, making it easier to wear. Because of the empire waist, this can also be an incredible vintage

This romantic vintage red velvet dress was custom-made in the late 1930s (possibly early 1940s), and is entirely one-of-a-kind. The maxi-length crushed red velvet is so rich. It was reworked and modernized around the 1970s, with a zipper added in the back, making it easier to wear. Because of the empire waist, this can also be an incredible vintage maternity dress. Closes in the back with a zipper.

The Antique Victorian Heart Locket pictured is also available. 

Measurements: This will best fit a size X-Small, Small and possibly Medium; please refer to below measurements. It is smaller through the shoulders and chest, with more flexibility through the waist and hips.
Chest: 37"
Empire waist/underbust: about 29", gathering offers some forgiveness there
Hips are open up to 45"
Length: 53"


Good vintage condition overall; there were some repairs made to the fabric at the bottom skirt towards hem. Easy to put together. A drill with the hex head made it easier. I see some of the photos in the reviews and it looks like the fabric is wrinkled and loose. However, when we put it together, the fabric was tight and it looked polished. Using this divider to separate a recording space from the rest of the room the overall look is nice. I would not use this in a living room, but it’s fine in another room. Once put together, it is pretty sturdy. The pieces that connect the panels together are plastic. We did fold it one time when we moved it and didn’t have any issues, but it is going to remain stationary so I can’t comment on folding it more than the one time. It is very lightweight and very opaque.
