Telfa Adhesive Island Dressing is designed to cover and protect surgical wounds, cuts, and abrasions securely. The dressing features a non-adherent Telfa pad at the center, preventing it from sticking to the wound, while the adhesive border ensures it stays in place. This permits easy application and removal without causing trauma to healing tissue. Ideal for post-operative care, these dressings offer a sterile environment that prevents contamination and encourages faster, effective healing by keeping the wound clean and protected.

Introducing the Telfa Adhesive Island Dressing, a must-have in every first aid kit for its superior wound care performance. Perfectly crafted at a size of 2 x 3.75 inches, this sterile dressing is designed to offer maximum comfort and protection. It features an absorbent non-adherent pad surrounded by a gentle adhesive border, making it an ideal choice for post-operative wounds, lightly draining wounds, and general-purpose wound dressing. Its unique structure minimizes trauma to delicate skin tissues upon removal while securely covering the wound site.

Details and Features:

Size and Sterility: Measures 2 x 3.75 inches, providing optimal coverage for small to medium wounds. Each dressing is individually wrapped and sterile, ensuring safe application each time.
Non-Adherent Pad: The central pad is constructed from non-adherent materials, preventing the pad from sticking to the wound bed while allowing fluid absorption to maintain a clean and conducive healing environment.
Adhesive Border: The soft, flexible adhesive border securely adheres to the skin without causing irritation, ensuring the dressing stays in place while conforming to body contours for enhanced patient comfort.
Hypoallergenic: Designed to minimize the risk of allergic reactions, making it suitable for individuals with sensitivities.
Breathable and Lightweight: Facilitates non-occlusive coverage that supports airflow, helping to reduce the risk of maceration while promoting natural healing.
User-Friendly Application: The adhesive border simplifies application, minimizing handling and reducing dressing application time.

Mechanism of Action:

The Telfa Adhesive Island Dressing operates through a two-part mechanism. The non-adherent pad absorbs exudates from the wound, maintaining a moist yet non-sticky surface that aids in natural healing. Meanwhile, the breathable adhesive border gently secures the dressing in place, preventing external contaminants from entering the wound area and reducing the risk of secondary infections.

Directions for Use:

1. Prepare the Wound: Clean the wound with a suitable antiseptic or as directed by a healthcare professional. Carefully pat the area dry with a sterile cloth or gauze pad.
2. Apply the Dressing: Remove the protective film from the adhesive border. Position the non-adherent pad centrally over the wound. Press down on the adhesive border to secure the dressing on the surrounding skin.
3. Observation and Replacement: Regularly inspect the dressing for adequate adhesion and saturation levels. Replace the dressing if it becomes saturated or at least once daily, or more frequently if directed by a healthcare professional.

Warnings:

  • For External Use Only: This product is designed for external wound care and should not be ingested or applied internally.
  • Check Allergy Status: Ensure all components including the adhesive and the absorbent pad do not cause an allergic or adverse reaction before use.
  • Avoid Use on Infected Wounds: Consult a healthcare provider for appropriate treatment steps for severe or highly infected wounds.
  • Monitor and Replace: If redness, itching, swelling, or worsening of the wound occurs, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
  • Sterility Assurance: Do not use if the package is open or damaged prior to application to ensure sterility and efficacy.

The Telfa Adhesive Island Dressing is your reliable choice for effective wound management, providing peace of mind with every application thanks to its thoughtful design and dependable performance.

Solid "Star Wars"-ing.
Format: Paperback
“Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku” is a three-part, 12-issue comic series, comprised of a trio of individual miniseries that form one collective trilogy-of-sorts, and details the war between New Republic/Imperial forces in the weeks and months following the events of “Return of the Jedi.” Writer Alex Segura – who previously penned the underrated "Free Fall" – does a good job of telling a single, satisfying story that ALSO tees up his upcoming relaunch of the mainline “Star Wars” series in May. What also makes “The Battle of Jakku” a pleasure to read – particularly if you’re a diehard “Star Wars” fan - are the various Easter eggs and cross-franchise connections it makes to other entries in the series, including “Battlefront II,” Greg Rucka’s "Shattered Empire," and even Chuck Wendig's “Aftermath” trilogy. Watching this specific era of the “Star Wars” timeline be filled out and expanded within the larger media has been one of the more satisfying and consistently enjoyable aspects of the “Star Wars” property these last 10 years, and Segura – as is his want – does yeoman’s work in effectively putting a final bow on it. All in all, pretty darn good “Star Wars”-ing.

All this talk of Jakku and not a single worthwhile image of it.
Format: Paperback
This was a total disorganized mess that bears no resemblance to Star Wars at all. The art is puerile at best and some characters bear a passing resemblance to Luke and Leia. The dialogue is nonsense and reads nothing like the characters would speak. The plot is a ridiculous compilation of double crosses that make no sense at all. The Imperials don’t act like Imperials and the endless plethora of new characters and planets make for an exhausting and tedious read. Finally, the story doesn’t really mesh with that other ridiculous trilogy of books by Chuck Wendig. Real Star Wars writers were needed like James Luceno or Timothy Zahn. I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy. Life is short. Stick to writers with a proven track record and stories that reflect Lucas’ vision not the Disney disorder. Oh for the days when Dark Horse told exciting tales and had great artists. Marvel seems to be just interested in squeezing money out of the name and not creating a meaningful legacy.

Absolute Slop
Format: Paperback
This is likely the worst Star Wars graphic novel/story in the history of the medium. Absolute slop.

A must read for Kylo fans
Format: Kindle
I'm so sad this was only about 100 pages. This gave clarity to the choppy movie origin story of Kylo Ren while filling some major movie plot holes. Angsty, heart wrenching and dark -- the perfect intro for our favorite emo space boy. The art style was really great without being too gory. Adam Driver fans will also be pretty pleased with the likeness (it's not exact, but still good).
