Here is a circa 1900 two piece ensemble comprised of a skirt and blouse made of very fine lawn cotton. The blouse has a lovely high neck with lace frill.  The collar still has one of its original stays, the other stay is missing.  It does up with 17 small mother of pearl buttons, there is one button missing at the very bottom at the waistline.  It has pin tucks and is beautifully constructed with cut work and a filet lace.  The sleeves have been designed with a slight shoulder puff.

Fabric:  Fine Lawn Cotton with lace Inserts.  Please rely on the following measurements for sizing, remember that you need to be smaller than what is indicated in order for this to fit you, the blouse is meant to hang loosely over the bustline in a blouson fashion and as there is no "give" to fine cotton like this, it should not fit tightly.

Shoulders: 15 1/2

Sleeves:  20

Overall Length:  Back (from the shoulder to the bottom - 18 1/2  Front measures - 22 1/2

Skirt: 

Waist:   30 -  it has been altered to make it larger, someone added a piece of grosgrain ribbon to extend it.  Original measurement would be 25"

Hips:     40  should fit loosely

Overall Length: 

Front - 39 

Back - 41 as it dips slightly longer at the back.

Condition of the blouse is very good, just one missing button and collar stay.

Condition of the skirt:  very good - it has been altered to make it larger, someone added a piece of grosgrain ribbons in a v-shape to extend it.  Original measurement would be 25". It has been gently hand washed.

A beautiful outfit for a summer's day, could be used as a wedding outfit as well.
