Description

elephant bush succulents Portulacaria afra "Elephant Bush / Spekboom"Portulacaria afra ("elephant bush"), native to Africa, is known as "spekboom" by the native Africans. In habitat, this plant forms large thickets known as "spekboomvelds" and are fed upon extensively by elephants. A group of elephants can quickly strip all the leaves and smaller branches in a single feeding, but the regenerative property of the Portulacaria is so great that within two weeks the branches will have regrown lush new greenery.

Portulacaria afra ("elephant bush"), native to Africa, is known as "spekboom" by the native Africans. Portulacaria afra can form up to 80% of the elephant's diet. This is a somewhat symbiotic relationship between the plant and the elephant ~ during the feeding the elephant breaks off branches that later re-root and establish new stands of plants. Portulacarias are easily grown, fast-growing plants that prefer porous soil with ample airflow. Bright light to full sun to prevent etiolation of the stems. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Protect from frost.

Tough Bunny
Style: Bunny
So far so good. We’ve been able to play tug-of-war with it several times and it’s not ripped apart. That’s why I gave it 5 stars. My dog has big teeth and a strong body. So this bunny is tough Only time will tell if it’s really worth the money

Hard to Destroy
Style: Bunny
My puppy hasn’t been able to destroy it yet. All other toys have only lasted about 10 minutes.

Favorite fetch
We have a 70 lb Aussie and a 13 lb Havanese who compete with each other to fetch toys. This hedgehog is their favorite, largely due to the loud assertive squeak. Our big dog is a chewer and has a history of getting to any squeaker in a toy, once nearly choking when successfully removing one from a smaller toy. She still tries to chew on this toy, going straight for the nose but has not yet gotten to the squeaker which is large enough that I don't believe would be a choking hazard if she did get to it. No soft toy is indestructible, but compared to other plush toys, this is more durable. Once the nose has been chewed off, I have simply hand stitched the hole closed and from then on she's no longer interested in chewing through it. Have run through the wash and comes out fine. When one eventually wears out I order a replacement and the 2 puppies compete once again over ownership.

Holding up to my teething 5 month old puppy
All toys are are hard to review as it comes down to the pet. But for what it's worth, this seems well made and is holding up to our teething puppy!
