The central pole means that there is maximum headroom in the middle of this tent, giving you plenty of space for sitting up, organising you gear, preparing food and getting dressed in comfort.
A really useful feature of Hilleberg tents is that you pitch flysheet first ... so no more wet inner tents! You can also keep the flyheet & inner tent linked and pitch both of them quickly in one go. If you're packing-up in the pouring rain then simply unclip the inner, stash it safely in your rucksack and get into your waterproofs ... ready to quickly take down the fly, pegs & pole. When you arrive at your next night's camp ... do the same thing in reverse and, even if it's (still) raining, you'll have a completely dry inner as you settle in to your tent for the evening!
