$199 is your absolute final/total here for the the Fredric Effects Utility Perkolator MKII pedal.

This Utility Perkolator is Fredric's latest version of the highly sought-after Harmonic Percolator from the 1970s, made famous by Steve Albini of Shellac.

This MKII version pedal comes in a new triangular wedge enclosure and has some new features added as well. They added a ring modulator switch, for octavey/splattery overtones. This ring circuit is closely related to the vintage Dan Armstrong Green Ringer effect. Also, on the inside of the pedal, you will find 2 dip switches on the circuit board, to remove the low pass filter if desired (see "CONTROLS" below for details).

Before we get way into the Utility Perkolator MKII, the next 2 paragraphs simplify the difference between the Fredric Effects Harmonic Percolator and their Utility Perkolator:

Fredric Effects Harmonic Percolator - this clone is the 100% vintage correct circuit, with the hard-to-find, new old-stock vintage components. It has the unpredictability of the vintage Harmonic Percolator on which it is based, with a raucous edge to the sound, and a fizzy decay note.

Fredric Effects Utility Perkolator - this is the result of experimenting with the Harmonic Percolator circuit for a few years. It uses lower leakage, old stock USSR germanium transistors, and incorporates a very subtle low pass filter, which takes the fizz out of the decay and makes it generally a "better behaved" Harmonic Percolator. However, it is still capable of some great, full-on fuzz sounds!

The Harmonic Percolator is a simple, yet fascinating circuit which readily lends itself to some tweaking. Fredric Effects already builds a faithfully vintage version of the Harmonic Percolator, however their Utility Perkolator MKII takes this circuit in another direction.

Using higher gain, lower leakage Russian Germanium transistors, and a low pass filter which only removes the high-end hisses and glitches associated with the Harmonic Percolator, the Utility Perkolator MKII has a considerably lower noise floor, and more predictable note decay. The result is a tighter and more controllable effect which is still capable of producing the classic Harmonic Percolator sound.

Reviews from our customers at Reverb:

CONTROLS:

Harmonics:
Controls the gain of the circuit.

Balance:
Controls the overall volume of the effect.

Si-Ge Switch:
Selects 3 diode clipping options.
Up - Silicon clipping for a smoother sound.
Down - Germanium clipping (like the original Harmonic Percolator) for a grittier sound.
Middle - No clipping, for a more open and less "fuzz" sound.
The overall volume will be higher with no signal clipping selected.

New for Version 2...
Ring Switch:

This engages a ring modulator switch, for octavey/splattery overtones. This ring circuit is closely related to the vintage Dan Armstrong Green Ringer effect.

Dip Switches on the circuit board inside the pedal:
R8 bypass, NR on - A simple, yet subtle low pass filter. By default (see photo of the inside), these switches are in the positions OFF, ON = low pass filter engaged. To disengage the filter, you can set these to ON, OFF.

Love Is Not Enough. Skill Makes It Work.
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
I genuinely loved this book. Debra’s core idea is simple but powerful: most relational problems are not caused by a lack of love, but by a lack of skill. That shift in perspective changes everything. It moves the conversation from “Do I care?” to “Am I communicating care in a healthy, effective way?” What I appreciated most is how practical the book is. It tackles real-life issues like triggers, communication, emotional intelligence, boundaries, and vulnerability, and turns them into skills you can actually practice. The emphasis on personal ownership was especially impactful for me. Instead of focusing on fixing other people, it invites you to ask, “What’s my role?” That question alone can transform a relationship. This is not a dense academic read. It is accessible, actionable, and deeply helpful. Whether you are married, dating, leading, or simply trying to grow, there is something here for you. If you want stronger relationships and greater emotional maturity, this book is well worth your time.

This book looks at how we communicate and connect with others in today’s increasingly digital world, where face-to-face connection is increasingly rare but so necessary. This book is both timely and actionable. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to strengthen their skills and improve or deepen relationships. A must read, One of the most powerful books Ive read.
Format: Paperback
This book has not just impacted me personally, it has influenced my leadership as well. I found so much value in it that I brought it into my workplace. We’ve started using the conversation cards as icebreakers during team meetings, and the shift in engagement has been noticeable. The questions create space for authenticity, vulnerability, and deeper connection among staff. What used to be routine check-ins have become meaningful conversations. I am even considering using People Skills as our next workplace book club selection because its principles are so relevant to leadership, ministry, and team dynamics. The skills outlined in this book strengthen emotional intelligence, improve communication, and support healthier work culture, all while remaining rooted in faith. This book reminded me that loving people well is intentional work. It takes awareness, humility, and practice. People Skills has helped me grow in all three areas. I am grateful for what I’ve learned and highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to strengthen their relationships, lead more effectively, and become a better reflection of God’s love in everyday interactions.
