Bitter Gourd AKA Bitter Melon (Momordica charantia) is a sub-tropical/tropical vine that grows best in warmer seasons such as spring and summer.   It grows well in container gardens and in the ground.  Plant seeds indoor 1-2 weeks before the last frost then transplant them outside they reach approx. 5 inches.  In warmer climates, they can be germinated outdoors.  Requires average watering like most vegetables to maintain the soil moist.  Best to be grown in full sun, or where it gets at least half day of sun.

Bitter Gourd belongs in the gourd family, and produces beautiful fruits that start as green then turns golden yellow when ripe.  In Chinese, Indian and Japanese culinary, green fruits are harvested for stir fry, stuffed and cooked in broth, and braising.  When the fruits are green, they have a crisp texture, and have a pleasantly bitter taste which adds another dimension to cooking.  The bitter is thought to have healing properties for our health.  When the fruits ripen, they become soft, and bitter is less intense.  The skin around the seed turns red and has a creamy sweet flavor.  Picking the fruit when it just starts to turn yellow taste best thinly sliced to add in salads.  Goes well with a sweet and tang dressing.

♥Why Eat Bitter Gourd?
Bitter Gourd fruits can be juiced to drink as a liver tonic and supporting immunity.  The leaves and the fruits both dried or fresh can be simmered to make tea.  This plant is beneficial for heart, kidney, bladder, liver health.  It contains vitamins A, C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Phosphorus, Potassium, Zinc.

Ball Launcher Poorly Made and Hard To Use, Save Your Money
This launcher was too long and thin to pick up the ball from the ground, I had to use my other hand to press down on it. The screw on handle was heavy and kept coming loose no matter how tight I made it, strain on the wrist to use. The ball holder end would often not let go of the ball when trying to launch it. I ended up putting it in the trash. I had two shorter Chuckit launchers that are much better made, will stick with them. I don't recommend this to anyone, save your money.

Go Get It!
GoSports does it again. Our family has a lot of GoSports products. It brings us comfort knowing when we order a product from them the quality is going to be great. The Ball Launcher is excellent. Our lab loves the soft tennis balls that come with it, preferring them over the harder rubber ones from other brands. The launcher itself is thoughtfully designed, well-made, and comfortable to hold. Our new go-to for daily fetch sessions.

Gave it a Try
I have always used the Chuck It ball and ball launcher. I thought I would try this since the price was better. There is definitely a reason it is priced lower. The handle on this one twists on and constantly comes undone when you throw, and it does not launch nearly as well. I would not order this product again.

A few usability issues
My dog is obsessed with playing fetch. It’s part of our daily routine. Pros - I like that this comes with two launchers so we can keep one at home and one in the car. - Build feels solid Cons - The cup is slightly too small for regular sized tennis balls. I buy the large Costco box of Penn tennis balls every couple of years for my dog. If you fully seat the ball in the cup/launching end, it’s extremely difficult to throw and puts some strain on your wrist. — the workaround is to only partially insert the ball when picking it up. - Like others have stated, the launcher does come unscrewed occasionally after a few throws. It’s kind of annoying so I’ll likely try some thread lock, but ideally that wouldn’t be necessary.

Fun!!!
I can’t say enough good things about this tennis ball launcher! Roxy absolutely loves it. Every time I pick it up, her tail goes crazy with excitement. It’s so easy on my arm, and I love that it gives her a great way to burn off energy. The launcher is sturdy, well-made, and works like a charm. If you have a high-energy pup like Roxy, this is a must-have!
